The Opportunity

Represent world-renowned brands including Volvo CE and Yanmar while leading a skilled team of technicians in Palmerston North. As Service Manager, you'll be responsible for driving operational performance, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across workshop and field service operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role with the autonomy to lead a successful operation, develop your team, and contribute to the continued growth of TDX. Backed by industry-leading brands and one of New Zealand's most respected construction equipment businesses, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding outcomes for both customers and the wider business.

 What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the day-to-day operations of the service department
• Managing, motivating and organising the Service Team to ensure the delivery of timely and high quality technical and mechanical support to customers.
• Building strong relationships with customers and delivering exceptional service
• Managing jobs from setup through to invoicing
• Overseeing warranty claims and ensuring claims are processed correctly and on time
• Supporting recruitment, training and apprenticeship programmes
• Working closely with Parts and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient inventory management

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a Service Manager, Workshop Manager or similar leadership role
• A background in heavy diesel, construction equipment, earthmoving, transport or related industries
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Sound commercial acumen and experience managing operational performance
• Exceptional customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational and administrative capability
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
