The role:
We are currently seeking a Service Manager to join our hard-working team of field and workshop based Heavy diesel mechanics and apprentices. This position is based in our Palmerston North branch.

Possessing a high level of motivation and resilience, you will take initiative and be proactive in your approach with customers. Building rapport and strong relationships with your customers and staff alike, you will pride yourself on being able to motivate others to meet set objectives and regularly exceed performance levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • You will lead, supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Palmerston North Service function.
  • Managing, motivating and organising the Service Team to ensure the delivery of timely and high quality technical and mechanical support to customers.
  • Daily interaction and connection with our valued customers and staff.
  • All job management (set up to invoice)
  • Awareness and management of workshop labour productivity & recoveries and be able to summarise through reporting, when required.
  • Manage inventory control on locally stocked spare parts and develop in conjunction with our Supply Chain Team and our Parts Department.
  • Ensure all staff understand the warranty process and that it is followed accordingly.


We are ideally looking for:

  • Someone with a proven ability to lead a team of engaged and high performing team member.
  • Sound technical knowledge in construction equipment.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  •  Experience working in a similar role in the Heavy Diesel industry – understanding the day-to-day challenges and processes of a workshop and service provider will be advantageous
